Casper joined the company in
December 2001 when it was Thermo
Electron, serving as president
of the Life and Laboratory
Sciences Segment. He was named
senior vice president in
December 2003, and in March 2005
was given responsibility for all
operating divisions. In November
2006, when Thermo Fisher
Scientific was formed through
the merger of Thermo Electron
and Fisher Scientific, Marc was
named executive vice president
of the company and president of
its Analytical Technologies
businesses. In May 2008, he
became chief operating officer
of Thermo Fisher Scientific, and
in October 2009, was named
president and CEO.
Prior to joining Thermo Fisher,
Casper served as president,
chief executive officer and a
director of Kendro Laboratory
Products. Before Kendro, he
worked for clinical diagnostics
provider Dade Behring Inc., most
recently serving as
president--Americas. Casper
began his career at Bain &
Company and Bain Capital.
Casper received an MBA with high
distinction from Harvard
Business School and is a
graduate of Wesleyan University,
where he received a bachelor’s
degree in economics.
